Thirteen Movies In My Netflix Queue

Well, I finally did it. After hearing so many people rave about Netflix, I broke down and signed up for the free trial this weekend. I haven't received my first delivery yet, but already I've added a bunch of movies to my queue. Some are for me, some are my husband's pics, and I've even picked a few for the kids. Here, in no particular order, are some of those movies:

1. The Queen

2. Sweet Home Alabama

3. The Devil Wears Prada

4. Brokeback Mountain

5. The Producers (new version)

6. Crash

7. Little Miss Sunshine

8. The Importance of Being Earnest (I love me some Colin Firth!)

9. The Sopranos Season 6

10. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

11. Stranger than Fiction

12. For Your Consideration

13. Crash

As you can see, I'm a bit behind on some of these. With three kids, we hardly ever get to see movies in the theater, and by the time I hit the video store I tend to forget what I'd wanted to see when it was released!

So my question for you is, what movies should I add to my queue? What have I missed that you recommend?

You and the kids will LOVE The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Long movie but I've watched it twice already. IT's fantastic.

Um, Ice age 2 is great (i don't even have little kids and i love kid movies *g*). Hubby and I laughed our butts off to Madagascar. Great movie for all the family too.

King Kong was wonderful. (the latest remake). I really liked War of the Worlds, too. A History of Violence is very good. Mr and Mrs Smith if you haven't seen it yet.

I could go on. And on...... ;-)

Thanks, Jaci! We just bought Madagascar, one of those "five DVDs for 49 cents" things, so I'm looking forward to it. The kids have been agitating for Ice Age 2, so I'll have to check it out.

Amazingly, King Kong was one of the few in-theater movies we've seen in the past few years (that and Pirates 2. I'm not crazy.). Loved it, too! And thanks for the other suggestions.

Now, the question is just finding time to actually watch all these great films when they arrive!

I just got Little Miss Sunshine in the mail from Netflix today. I can't wait to watch it.

I loved Crash. It was one of my favorite rentals last year.

Happy TT! Mine's up here:

I've heard Little Miss Sunshine is awesome. I hope you enjoy it. I'd love to try Netflix, but I'm not sure if they have it in Canada. :(

I watched The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe last weekend and just loved it. The little girl that plays Lucy steals the movie!!!

Elisa, let me know what you think of Little Miss Sunshine! It's a few movies down the list for me, so I've got a little time to wait.

Christine, I just checked the FAQ at Netflix and found the following:

Where do you ship to? Do you ship internationally?
A: Netflix currently rents DVDs throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. We do not rent outside of the United States with the exception of the following U.S. Territories:

FPO and APO addresses
American Samoa
Federated States of Micronesia
Guam
Marshall Islands
Northern Mariana Island
Palau
Puerto Rico
Virgin Islands

So, it looks like Canada is out of luck! :( (Although why it would be easier to ship to Northern Mariana Island than Vancouver Island, I have no idea.) Maybe they'll expand Northward soon...

Thanks for the rec, tvaddictgurl! So, how young would you say was appropriate to watch LWW? I've got a 5 year old and an 8 year old (the three year old is out of the running), and we're debating whether to make it a family movie night, or just Mom and Dad movie night.

I know what you mean when you are behind watching movies. Of that list the only one I saw was The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Jaci is right by the way your kids will love it, in fact mine are the reason why I even saw the movie in the first place.

Someday i may have to break down and join netflix, but for now I am resisting. LOL

Jenn,

You can't fight it forever. It's like the Borg. You will be assimilated. :)
