Book BIN Tuesday - Signal Boost

When technology stopped working, the world as they knew it ended.

In a secluded cabin, John and his loved ones have survived. He should feel grateful. But his family is in his face 24/7, he has to watch his best friend, Arden, and brother, Gabriel, flaunt their love, and as a techie in a Luddite world he's pretty much useless. The cabin is brimming with people, but he feels utterly alone.

Until he catches Mr. Tall, Blond and Gorgeous raiding their garden. Mykhail is an astrophysics student, he makes John's gaydar ping like crazy and he thinks he knows what caused the devastation. He's on a journey to his university to find answers, and John invites himself along. Partly to get out of the house, and partly because he can't let Mykhail go without acting on the mutual attraction that's so obvious even John's mom is playing matchmaker.

The closer they get to campus, the more Mykhail lets down his walls. But with answers come secrets both devastating and deadly, and before they can save the world, they'll have to save themselves.

OMG, I've been dying to get my hands on this book. I loved the first in the series, Signal Boost, and am so excited to read John and Mykhail's story. Seriously. Go out and Buy It Now!

Book one of Greenway Range

Retired marine Sawyer Cain can't forget all he's seen and lost, but he can try to start over. Opening a gun range with his closest friends is the first step toward a new life—one where he finally buries the guilt he can't seem to shake. So much depends on the property he needs to buy…and the gorgeous but completely frustrating woman who refuses to sell it.

Hailey Thorne is done—with loss and with anything military, after the closest thing she had to an uncle died in Afghanistan. When Sawyer shows up on her porch he has military written all over him. He's one more in a long line of people who wants the land she inherited, and suddenly he's everywhere she goes. Hailey can't get the broad-shouldered, dirty-talking, dead-serious man out of her head. Or her life.

Sawyer's not above using his skills in the bedroom to try to convince her to sell, and Hailey is more than willing to let him. Their pleasure-only arrangement works…until emotions get in the way. But Sawyer has a secret he's convinced will have Hailey hating him forever, and Hailey's not willing to risk loving anyone she could lose.

Meet The Author - Danube Adele

NAME:  Danube Adele

TITLE OF FIRST BOOK: Quicksilver Dreams, Book #1 Dreamwalker Series

RELEASE DATE:  January 6, 2014

FAVORITE WRITING STORY/SAYING/MEMORY: I’d read an adventure story written in the first person by Gena Showalter called Playing With Fire.  It was such a fun, lighthearted read, and I completely enjoyed myself.  I may have even read it in one sitting. It got me thinking.  Could I do this?  I hadn’t had time to write for a while because my children (identical twin boys) were young, but now they were older. Quicksilver Dreams started as a short scene written in the first person as an experiment, and it was such a blast, my characters were so real for me, that the story filled in naturally.  Taylor Lane became this very spunky, kick*ss character that you could really cheer for.  She wasn’t someone who ever gave up.  She might get knocked down, but she came back swinging.  I loved that about her.  Then she meets Ryder Langston, someone with his own demons to slay, and letting the two of them hash it out was exciting.  They were both intense, passionate people and by the end of the story, you’re really pulling for them.

FAVORITE NON-WRITING STORY/SAYING/MEMORY: I get my best thinking done in the shower.  Really!  It’s the least distracting place, and the ideas just flow. It’s a place where I don’t have to solve an issue between kids, I don’t have to look for a missing object for my husband because I seem to be the only one who knows where anything is (even when it’s not mine), and I don’t have the dog blowing unfriendly toxins at me. The shower.  Seriously.  And, it’s a glass shower, so I even get extra time to think because I take the time to squeegee it.

COMFORT FOOD: After a busy day that gets me home too late to be motivated to do something healthy, my go-to food is this great little mom and pop place that is really small enough to be a hole-in-the-wall-Mexican food restaurant. It’s cash only and has the best meat-bean-rice-cheese burritos around. This was a hard question because sometimes, In-n-Out Burgers is the place. Sorry. It’s a toss-up.

COMFORT READ:  Authors I’ve gone back to time and again over years have been Joanna Lindsey, Nora Roberts, Christine Feehan and Kresley Cole to name just a few. I sincerely can’t pick just one.

YOUR PERFECT DAY: My usual workdays are jam-packed with activity where every part of the day is completely accounted for, which is why I love days when I can stay in my soft PJ bottoms until noon, lounging in front of the TV with my kids, my husband and my dog all intertwined on the couch with a book in one hand and a football game on at the same time.  In my family, we enjoy laying all over each other and randomly snoozing. A family that loafs together stays together. That’s my motto. (-;

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?:  Dreams Of A Wild Heart, Book #2 in the Dreamwalker series, is coming out in June, so I’m currently in the middle of the editing process.  At the same time, I’m writing Book #3, which does not yet have a title, but will be coming out in December.

A lifetime resident of southern California, she spends time playing at the beach, camping in Joshua Tree National Park, and hiking Mammoth Mountain. Extensive travel and trying new things has kept the creative spark alive. Danube lives in Claremont with her biggest fans, her loving husband, amazing and wonderful identical twin sons, and a teddy bear of a Rottweiler.  Her debut novel, Quicksilver Dreams, Book #1 of the Dreamwalker series was officially released January 6, 2014.

Book BIN Tuesday - Quicksilver Dreams by Danube Adele

My name is Taylor, and damn but my life changed overnight. One moment I was just a regular girl working two jobs to pay my bills, and next thing you know, I'm uncovering secret metal disks at my boss's house. Now I'm reading minds, dream-walking and being saved from bad guys by Mr. Dark and Brooding.

That would be Ryder Langston, my new next-door neighbor. He's sex on legs but he's also a secret agent from another world—no joke. I believe him now because he dragged me back here "for my protection" after he discovered someone was trying to assassinate me on Earth. It isn't working out so well.

There's a war going on, one that's been fought for generations. Ryder's having trust issues (not that it's stopping us from falling into bed), and it turns out I'm connected here, if you know what I mean. The target on my back finally makes sense, but there's nowhere left to hide…

Life of the Party!

It's here! The final novella in the Girls Most Likely To trilogy, Life of the Party, is now available from Carina Press! Here's the details...

In high school, Tess Bonham was the go-to for party planning. So it's no surprise that she's built that talent into a successful party planning business. Tess loves her job--most of the time. Planning her own ten-year reunion weekend promises to be the highlight of her career, even if making it perfect for her former classmates means she won't actually have time to enjoy it herself.

Hotelier Jeremy Wright has wanted Tess for months, and he's tired of watching her sacrifice her social life to her overbooked calendar. So when she's short-staffed, Jeremy jumps at the chance to help out with her reunion during the day--if Tess surrenders the nights to him. He's got plans for a private party, and she's the guest of honor...

Tess should say no. But she really, really wants to say yes. Spending time with Jeremy reminds her just how much fun life can be. But she's not sure she can be "just friends" once she knows how amazing the benefits are...

"Kate has done a wonderful job in creating a believable sense of connection between Jeremy and Tess and I couldn’t have asked for more in a novel of this length." Maldivian Book Reviewer

"Kate Davies did a great job in bringing to the page Tess and Jeremy’s friends-to-lovers story in a way that truly gave me the insight necessary to understand where each were coming from and believe that they could be great together." Shirley Frances Books and More

"Sexy and emotional, with satisfying happily-ever-afters I can believe in. 'Girls most likely to...' is a delight." Vivian Arend

Cutest Couple - Second Excerpt

“Marc?” Bree stepped closer, the scent of her shampoo wrapping around him. “What’s wrong?”

Nothing. Everything. With a muffled growl, he slid his arm around her waist and pulled her into him. She gasped, her mouth opening, and he swept his tongue inside. Even ten years later, he still recognized the softness of her lips, the little groan that escaped her before she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back.

This was no innocent peck between old friends. This was heat and desire and passion, tongues stroking, teeth nipping, breath panting. They were two strong-willed people, fighting for dominance. He slid one hand down her back to cup her ass, tugging her hips forward until their bodies met from shoulder to knee.

In response, she slipped one foot between his, arching into him. She gripped the back of his head, her nails scoring sharp little stings in his scalp. Her teeth nipped at his mouth.

It was anger and lust, white-hot and clear as glass.

It was every emotion he’d felt since last night rolled into one.

Turning her, he backed her blindly into the locker bank. Urging her leg up, he wrapped it around his waist, rocking into her in a steady rhythm that built and built. Her head dropped back, banging against the metal locker with a hollow thunk.

He ripped his mouth away from hers, sliding his lips down her cheek to her jawline, feathering over the
column of her neck, until he reached the sensitive spot where her pulse raced right under the skin. He mouthed over it, grimly satisfied at her gasping cry. Then he latched on and sucked.

Bree whimpered brokenly, tilting her head back to the side to give him better access, until he pulled away.
Already he could see the redness rising on her pale skin.

She was marked, where anyone could see.

It shouldn’t please him as much as it did.

Cutest Couple - First Excerpt!

Less than two weeks to the release of Cutest Couple, book two in the Girls Most Likely To trilogy. So how about an excerpt to start the day off right?

***

What the hell was she doing?

She’d had the opportunity. When he’d first walked over to the bar, turning his back on the door, she’d had the perfect chance to run. He’d never have noticed her slipping out.

And now it was too late.

Because there he was, standing in front of her, just inside her comfort zone. She couldn’t break eye contact to save her life. She felt like prey, watched by a predator that was no less frightening for being so familiar.

He’d never hurt her. Never physically. But she remembered how emotionally wrecked she’d been by the aftermath of their breakup, and had no intention of opening herself up to that pain again.

“Hello, Bree.”

“Marc.” Her heart was beating too fast, her breathing rapid and shallow. If she wasn’t careful she was going
to start hyperventilating.

“You look good.”

She wasn’t sure how he could tell, considering his gaze had never left eye level. “Thanks. So do you.”

Actually, “good” was an understatement. His blond hair, now cut military-short, accentuated his bone structure in a way the soft curls of high school hadn’t managed. His eyes were more noticeable, the piercing blue framed by those thick dark lashes she’d always envied.

He’d filled out, too, his lanky teenage frame now tautly muscled and toned.

Bree gritted her teeth. All the memories, all the emotions were clamoring for attention, and she was a little
weak.

She looked around. No one was riding to her rescue. Instead, they were surrounded by people avidly notwatching their meeting. Probably hoping for fireworks or a blowout on a reality-TV scale. Where the hell was Tess when she needed her?

Bree took a step back. “I didn’t expect you to be here tonight. You didn’t RSVP.”

“Nope,” he said with a shrug. “I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it or not.”

“What changed your mind?”

Marc leaned forward. “You.”

Ten years after being voted Most Likely to Succeed, Kelsey Moore is still living in her hometown, still working in her family's flower shop, and too embarrassed to attend her high school reunion. Only the chance to reconnect with her study buddy—and secret crush—Nathan Barrow tempts her to go.

Nathan isn't sure why he came back for the reunion after spending the past decade working abroad. But when he runs into his former lab partner, Kelsey, he's sure glad he did. The chemistry between them is as potent as ever, and when she offers him a weekend of wild, no-strings-attached sex, Nathan knows he'd be a fool to say no.

Countdown to Most Likely To Succeed!

Five days to go!

How about a new, never-before seen excerpt:

Kelsey put the phone on speaker and set it on her dresser. “I don’t think I can make it tonight,” she lied.

“Bullshit,” Tess said, her voice echoing over the phone line. “You just don’t want to run into Nathan again.”

Kelsey stood in front of the mirror and held up a red sweater.

No. She tossed it on the bed. “I’m just really busy.” Which was not only a lie, but a lame one at that.
And why was she trying on clothes for an event she’d just said she couldn’t attend?

Clearly, she had issues with internal consistency.

“Busy doing what?” Tess snorted. “Come on, cut the crap and get down here before I drag you kicking and screaming."

“I can’t.” She shoved the pile of clothing out of the way and sat down on the bed. “I made a complete fool out of myself today. And I haven’t thanked you yet for making it possible, have I?”

“How was I supposed to know he’d show up at the door in nothing but a towel? Which, by the way, you should be thanking me for, minus the sarcasm, thank you very much.”

Kelsey grabbed the phone from the dresser and took it off speaker. “Okay, yes, the visual was—impressive. But he started asking me questions and I...” She swallowed. “I panicked.”

Tess’s voice softened. “You’ve done nothing to be ashamed of, Kelsey. I wish you could get past that and just enjoy the reunion.”

Kelsey picked at a loose thread on the blue-and-green sweater next to her. “I know.”

“So put on something sexy, come have a few drinks and enjoy yourself. Better yet, get a few drinks into Nathan and enjoy him.”

“Tess!”

“What? It’s not like there’s a wide pool of candidates for a fling here in Silverton. Face it. You’ve had the hots for him for years. Why not take advantage of the short time he’s in town to act on it?”

Most Likely To Succeed - First Look!

In just 17 days, Most Likely To Succeed is going to be released from Carina Press. The first novella in the Girls Most Likely To trilogy, Most Likely To Succeed is the story of Kelsey Moore, a hometown girl who feels like she hasn't lived up to her potential, and Nathan Barrow, her high school crush who's gone on to great things since graduation. Here's a quick peek at the book:

Book one in The Girls Most Likely to…

SNEAK PEEK #1

Kelsey shifted the flower arrangement in her arms and sighed. The last thing she needed today was an emergency run over to the hotel, especially since she’d already agreed to take the weekend off for the reunion.

But Tess had wheedled, and begged, and probably would have batted her eyelashes if they’d been on Skype, so she’d caved.

Besides, Tess hardly ever asked for anything. Made it damn near impossible to say no to her when she did have a favor to ask.

Twice in one week, in fact.
Nancy, as always busy behind the counter, smiled as Kelsey entered the hotel. “Tess said to just go ahead and bring it up to room 417.”

Kelsey nodded and headed for the elevator. She had no idea why Tess thought the suite needed a new flower arrangement, but she’d been insistent.

Must be someone pretty special staying there, too, since Tess had ordered their largest display.

The elevator doors opened and Kelsey walked down the hall to room 417. Once there, she shifted the vase to one arm so she could knock.

There was no response, so she knocked again, wondering if she was going to need to head back downstairs to get a passkey. Before she could turn to go, though, the door opened.

And so did her mouth, her jaw dropping almost to the floor.
Because Nathan Barrow was standing in the doorway.
Wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
